McElligotts continual improvement process is an ongoing effort to improve our services, systems and processes.
McElligotts is committed to the continual improvement of our Management Systems to ensure best practices are implemented and maintained throughout the company. McElligotts has implemented Quality, Work Health and Safety (WHS) (Occupational Health and Safety Management) and Environmental Management Systems to assist with maintaining our standards and business goals.
These Management Systems provide our workers with clear procedures which can eliminate most causes of nonconformities and prevent recurrence of hazards, injuries and environmental issues. They also allow McElligotts to consistently produce work which is of high quality and high levels of safety.
McElligotts will continue to monitor and measure our systems to achieve planned results and outcomes through internal inspections, audits and review.


safetyMcElligott Partners Pty Ltd operates under AS4801 in Occupational Health and Safety management and has held this for several years.

With internal and external auditing of the system, ongoing improvements to our systems, procedures and work practices McElligotts continue to improve our services and systems.  Formal training and toolbox meetings have been important steps in our effort to reduce the number of accidents and incidents on our worksites, resulting in receiving awards for LTI in major refineries.  Safety inductions and specialised training from internal and external training providers for work on new and potentially dangerous sites has been of real benefit to our employees and consequently the company as a whole.
We have reduced the number of lost time accidents and we continue to develop and train our staff to work, think and act safe. New techniques and equipment are continually being sought to further reduce accidents and injuries to our workforce. Our company is committed to a safety conscious work place culture with management, supervisors and employees encouraged to participate in all facets of safety, from the development of procedures, to the introduction of new and safer methods of working in our industrial environment.


quality quality Our company operates under a Quality Management system that continues to ensure that all our work, no matter how large or small the project is, meets or exceeds the client’s requirements.

Our system has been designed to parallel ISO 9001 and is based on QP1 (developed by the Steel Structures Painting Council, USA). McElligott Partners Pty Ltd holds current third party accreditation with the national Painting Contractor Certification Program (PCCP), registration number 0007, and classes 1-5 inclusive. The PCCP is a federally sponsored system, controlled jointly between the CSIRO and the Industrial Painting Industry. The program involves external assessment of the contractor on not only the quality system, but also the capability of the contractor. In particular Class 5 certification relates to the removal of hazardous paints, such as lead based paints.


enviromentalWe are an environmentally conscious company and have put into place procedures, which aim to minimise the impact our work has on the environment and operate with the compliance of ISO14001 – Environmental management systems

This means:

  • Wherever practicable employees at McElligotts will reduce the volume of waste generated and reuse and recycle.
  • Where possible purchase responsibly, for example purchase local products to reduce transport emissions and support the local community.
  • Prevent any actions from work activities causing environmental damage by following preventative procedures.
  • Be aware of environmental issues and safeguards, including erosion and sediment control, weed invasion, sensitive/rare vegetation and fauna, air quality, noise, waste, heritage and archaeological sites.

Whenever possible new products and supplies should be reusable and/or recyclable.
The introduction of encapsulation systems, negative air, containment and recycling of waste abrasive have been introduced to provided both improved environmental control and improved quality and safety on the projects.
