The removal of lead-based paints from steel structures presents a major challenge to the protective coatings industry. Containment of the worksite and correct collection and disposal of waste material are key areas to manage in the process.

 
 

Aware of the dangers, McElligott Partners have researched, both locally and off-shore, and developed techniques to make lead removal as safe as possible. These include work area encapsulation, creating a negative air environment within the enclosed areas and improved dust extraction systems.
