The painted columns of the Bolte Bridge had suffered premature failure and McElligott Partners won the contract to “make good” the columns. Work was undertaken off swing stage scaffolding with areas around the swing stage being fully contained with shade cloth and locations under the wash area contained using geofabric filtering.

Due to the previous premature failure of the paint, the focus on the job was extremely high and we are pleased to say that the client, Baulderstone Hornibrook, was extremely pleased with the result and the coating is now withstanding the test of time in a difficult environment.
